Moraira

Moraira was once a fishing village and still retains much of its village charm. With three magnificent beaches along its 8 km coast El Portet, L'Ampolla and Platgetes and attractive rocky coves with their crystal clear warm waters Moraira is the perfect place for a beach holiday. Charming restaurants can be found around virtually every corner or you can just stroll through the shops and side streets or around the harbour and along one of the fine sandy beaches. There are weekly markets in most of the local Spanish towns and villages where you can buy fresh local fruit and vegetables and locally caught fish.

There are many places of interest in the area; Guadalest, Calpe, Altea, Javea, Benidorm and Denia; all within an easy drive. The whole area is well-worth exploring, some of the mountain passes however, are not for the faint-hearted!

The village centre, with its small and colourful Main Street, still retains much of the original character and atmosphere. The terrain, sloping gently from the coast into the pine clad foothills, provides views of the coastline uncluttered with high-rise buildings.
